- Get the chassis and engine serviced or inspected by a Freightliner, Spartan or Cummins shop before purchase — a $3,000 inspection on a $200,000 coach is cheap insurance
- Check tire date codes on all six or eight tires; a set of Class A diesel tires runs into the thousands and most sellers have not replaced them
- Run every system: hydraulic leveling, slide-outs, Aqua-Hot or diesel furnace, generator under load, residential fridge on inverter
- Ask for the Newmar service history; coaches that went back to Nappanee for work usually have complete records
