Buyer questions
Eight questions buyers ask about the Forest River Salem Cruise Lite 26ICE, answered from the RVs listed on US RV Connection right now.
Right now US RV Connection shows 3 priced 26ICE travel trailers, all with photos, asking between $21,988 and $23,988 with a median asking price of $21,988. Those are asking prices set by sellers, not confirmed sale prices. With only three units listed, the spread is narrow, so the practical question is less about price and more about condition and what each unit includes.
The current listings fall in the 2024 to 2025 model years. That makes every 26ICE on the site a recent-build travel trailer rather than an older used unit. With just three listed, year selection is limited, so compare each one on condition, photos and asking price. The listings do not state prior ownership history, so ask the seller directly about use and storage.
The 26ICE is a single floorplan, and the descriptions on US RV Connection describe it consistently: a front private bedroom with a custom king bed with Versa Tilt, double-size bunks, and a Versa-Lounge inside the large slide out. Listings state 32 ft 9 in in length, sleeping for 8, and one slide. So you are comparing identical layouts, not different versions.
Even on 2024 and 2025 units, check the roof and all sealant seams, and look for soft spots in floors and walls. Run the slide out fully in and out, since this floorplan depends on it for the Versa-Lounge. Test the fireplace and the power awning noted in one description, check the bunk frames, and open the pass-through storage to look for water staining. Confirm tires, brakes and bearings have been serviced.
From the dealer descriptions: a front private bedroom with a custom king bed with Versa Tilt, double-size bunks, a large slide out containing a Versa-Lounge, pull-out drawers, a fireplace and pass-through storage. One listing also notes a 16-foot power awning. Listings state sleeping for 8, one slide and a length of 32 ft 9 in. Anything beyond that, including appliances and tank sizes, is not spelled out, so ask the seller.
The facts point that way. Both descriptions highlight double-size bunks, a front private bedroom that separates the adults, and sleeping for eight, plus a Versa-Lounge in the slide for extra seating and sleeping. Pass-through storage helps with camp gear. The listings do not publish weights, so if towing capacity matters, get the weight sticker numbers from the seller before you commit to a tow vehicle.
All 3 of the 26ICE travel trailers currently on US RV Connection are in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. There are no other cities represented for this model at the moment, so buyers outside that area should plan on traveling or arranging their own transport. Each of the three listings includes photos, which helps you narrow things down before making the trip.
On price, the 26ICE sits at $21,988 to $23,988 asking, median $21,988, across 2024 to 2025 units. The Cherokee Grey Wolf 26SS shows 7 listings from $21,985 to $31,777, median $28,911, in 2025 to 2027 years. The Cherokee Wolf Pup 17JW has 9 listings, $18,991 to $26,998, median $23,988, 2026 to 2027. Floorplan details for those siblings are not published here, so compare their individual listings directly.
Answers are written from approved, priced listings on US RV Connection— asking prices, not sale prices — and from what the dealers' own descriptions say. Figures in the strip above are live; the answers refresh as inventory changes.
